Studio Residency

The Purpose

We believe that the most valuable thing an artist can do for their work and career is find and participate in constructive creative communities. Since the day we started, Assemble Sound has always tried to facilitate that in our studio space, and our primary vehicle for doing so is our Studio Residency program.

Every year we invite a new cohort of 10-20 artists, producers, and songwriters to work out of our recording studios. They are given 24/7 access to use the space for free, with the only requirement being that they participate in weekly development programming like community song critiques and industry workshops. We don’t touch their intellectual property or assume any rights to their work.

Besides access to studios, the program tries to give residents access to more people, knowledge, and resources that they can leverage to become better artists and music business owners. Our hope is that artist Residents leave the program with a lot of music created, a deeper understanding of their work, and more familiarity with the broader industry.

We don’t have the fanciest studios, but our Residents make them magical and breathe life into everything else we do as a company.
